Manage Issues (IDS™ section) During a Level 10 Meeting™

Per EOS® best practices, Traction Tools software is designed to help you focus on the three most important issues; going through rounds of three as you have time and opportunity during a meeting.

To select and order issues during a live Level 10 Meeting™:

By 1-2-3 Priority (default setting, only available during a live meeting):

  • Click on the gray [IDS™] icon next to each Issue that you would like to discuss and in the order you would like to discuss them in. Only 3 Issues can be selected at a time.

Note: You can change the sort order using the Sort button at the top

  • By Priority (1, 2 & 3) - recommended
  • By Owner
  • By Date Created (Oldest First)
  • By Date Created (Newest First)
  • Alphabetically

TIP: If you mark an issue as 1,2, or 3 for discussion and need to remove the numbering and start over, click the gray IDS icon again or use the Clear Selection button at the top.

By Votes (stars):

  1. Click L10 in the top menu bar
  2. Click Mange to the right of the meeting
  3. Click Advanced Settings at the bottom
  4. Click IDS
  5. Update Prioritization Method: to By Votes
  6. Click Save at the bottom

You can now vote by stars outside of a meeting by using an issues tile and by clicking on the star under the Priority heading. You can also click the stars during a meeting while viewing the IDS page. Each issue can have a maximum of 9 stars.

Options for Resolving (ie. Archiving) an Issue

During a meeting

  • Click the blank checkbox to the left of the Issue that has been resolved. This will archive the issue. (Ctrl + Z or CMD + Z, will restore the issue)
  • Alternatively, you can click the Resolve button in the Notes section that pops up when you click on an Issue (the button appears in the bottom right hand corner)

Outside of a meeting

It is not EOS® "pure" to close an Issue outside of a meeting. That said, if the need arises you can follow the steps below:

  1. Click L10 in the top menu bar
  2. Click Mange to the right of the meeting
  3. Click Issues on the left
  4. Click the trash can icon to the right of the issue to archive

TIP: Consider leaving a note by the issue to keep Archive history accurate. For example "NOT IDS'D" (IDS™)

Moving an Issue to another Level 10

Moving a issue with notes, so history is preserved in the original meeting. The only guideline with moving Issues (and People Headlines) is that you can only move them into meetings you are a member of, or if there is a common user between meetings. Contact us to set up a free common user between all or select meetings.

Move an Issue to Another Meeting

  1. Click L10 in the top menu bar
  2. Click Start Meeting
  3. Click on IDS™ in the Agenda
  4. Move the Issue in one of two ways:
  • Click the arrow button to the right of the issue you want to move, select the appropriate team meeting from the drop-down, and click OK to confirm.

-or-

  • Click on the title of the Issue you want to move. In the right side panel, click the Move To button (in the lower left-hand corner of the panel). Select the appropriate meeting from the drop-down and click OK.
  • **Both ways of moving an issue function the same and give the same outcome**

TIP: To move an issue to multiple meetings, use the second above method, as the issue is unable to be moved twice using the first method above after already being moved once.

TIPWhen running a meeting for the sole purpose of moving Issues, at the Conclude section un-check the boxes to Close Completed To-Do's and to Close People Headlines to preserve your meeting content until your real L10 occurs. You can also select No One  in the drop-down menu next to Send Email Summary.

TIP: You may want to remove any unofficial meetings from your meeting history. See this article on the Timeline.

Additional Options for Issues During a Meeting

  • The box icon in the center will create a Context Aware To-Do for you. This To-Do will include notes from the Issue.
  • The V/TO™ button will move an issue to your long term issues list on the Traction page of your V/TO.
